Biogas Southeast is a regional network, which was established to actively improve conditions for biogas in Southeast Sweden. Besides the three counties of Blekinge, Kronoberg and Kalmar also energy companies, the Federation of Swedish Farmers and public transport companies have joined the network. Biogas Southeast wants to increase the general knowledge about biogas. For improving the public acceptance of biogas in Sweden, the regional biogas network is cooperating with other regional biogas networks in Sweden, i.e. Biogas South, -West, -Middle, -North and –East. The regional networks are organized within the subsection biogas of the Swedish Gas Association. Biogas Southeast is also participating in various biogas projects at European level. By cooperating both nationally and at EU level the network is making its voice heard in several contexts. Besides knowledge dissemination, other issues for network cooperation are feasibility studies and background reports on biogas potential in the region. A very important current project is the development of a common biogas strategy and action plan for the region.
