The Nord – Pas de Calais Climate Plan generally fits in policy making and regional strategy implementation. Regional GHG emissions per habitant are a little bit over the national average. Eavy industry (48% of the reginonal emissions) like siderurgy, the building and third sector (19%), increasement of transports (17%) are parts of the explanation. Also increasing urban spread and its different problematics are important stakes for Nord – Pas de Calais to tacke climate change. The objective is to reduce regional GHG emissions by 4 till 2050 : from 11.2t CO2 per year and habitant in 2008 to 3t CO2 in 2050.
